Some states require notification in writing of who the agent/broker is representing. This is done at first "substantive discussion" about the property or business. If you are not sure who the agent is representing, just ask! Some states allow agents to practice "Dual Representation". We won't get in to that here as we don't practice it. How can you represent both parties to the same transaction fairly? You can't get one the best price and the other the best deal. You can only treat each side fairly which is what we practice. We will only represent one side of the transaction and still work with both sides fairly and honestly.
